The city of Avignon is one of Provence's top tourist attractions. For over 60 years, Avignon was Vatican City (Franco Vaticano). Top attractions in Avignon include the Palace of the Popes (Palais des Papes), the Rochers des Doms viewpoint and the remains of Avignon Bridge. Avignon's famous medieval bridge was the subject of the old song "Sur le Pont d'Avignon".
