Visitors to Provence France can rent automobiles at all major airports and in most French cities. The highway system in France is excellent, however, tolls are collected on the major freeways. Freeways in France are called "autoroutes".
The highway along the French Riviera is always busy, particularly during holiday periods. Consequently, it is recommended that rush hour periods are avoided whenever possible.
