Marseille in Provence France

Marseille is the largest city in Provence France.  It is France's important port on the Mediterranean Sea and is also the country's second largest city. Dating back to the 7th century, the city was originally founded by the Greeks.

Among its many tourist attractions are museums such as the Musee des Docks Romains and the Marseille History Museum (Musee du Vieux Marseille).  For many tourists, Marseille is the gateway to the French Riviera. It is also the departure point for many Mediterranean cruises.
